Folk-punk band the Levellers have confirmed details of their ‘grassroots’ tour in November 2010, which will take in 18 towns and cities around the UK.

After enjoying some hugely succesful club shows in Europe in 2009, the Levellers have decided to book a tour of intimate venues that are off their usual UK touring circuit. The band will be playing in some of the towns and cities they played at when they first start out 22 years ago, and others they have never played before.

The ‘She Wolf’ hitmaker admits she only realised how strong her cravings for the sugary treat were when she woke up tearful after dreaming of it while dieting to get in shape for a music video.

Could Brian Wilson really be preparing to rejoin the Beach Boys for a series of 50th Anniversary concerts? Entertainment reporter Robin Leech thinks so.

Leech recently interviewed Beach Boys co-founder Mike Love. ‘The Beach Boys are gearing up for next year’s 50th anniversary, and Mike Love told me that his cousin, founder and longtime member Brian Wilson, is reuniting with them for celebration concerts,’ Leech wrote in the Las Vegas Sun.

Brian Wilson, his brother’s Carl and Dennis, cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine formed the Beach Boys in 1961. Dennis died in 1983, Carl in 1998. Continue Reading →

Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar says she considered herself to be a good photographer till the time she met ace lensman Gautam Rajadhyksha.

“I purchased a rolleiflex camera in 1946 and took a lot of pictures. I thought I was good. I don’t like to be photographed. But, a few years later, I started getting calls from Gautam saying he wanted to take my pictures. I always ignored that,” she said, recalling her first encounters with the celebrity photographer.

The singer says Nick’s proposal gave her the ideas to create Lollipop Bling, her new ‘sweet’ fragrance.

She said: ‘The inspiration for Lollipop Bling was Nick’s marriage proposal to me. He first surprised me with a ring-pop – romantic, fun and young-at-heart – like me!’

In another instance of summer tour plans gone awry, Grammy-winning soul singer Maxwell has scrapped the tail end of his current tour.

While his Columbia Records label cited scheduling conflicts, Internet rumors said there was ill will involving Maxwell, main opening act Jill Scott and featured artist Erykah Badu; the female artists have allegedly been running over their allotted time, upsetting the headliner.

But Scott’s publicist said all was well between Scott and Maxwell. “Jill has enjoyed every moment on stage with Maxwell, whom she calls a consummate gentleman and tour mate. She looks forward to sharing the rest of the tour with all of the supportive followers.” Continue Reading →

Ronnie Wood has been given the seal of approval by his girlfriend’s father.

The 63-year-old Rolling Stones rocker has been given permission to marry 30-year-old Ana Araujo – who he began dating at the beginning of this year – by the Brazilian beauty’s father Manuel Pinto, despite the decorator never having met the guitarist.

Manuel – who at 57 is six years Ronnie’s junior – said: ‘My daughter Ana is wise and intelligent enough to make her own decisions. If she wants to go out with and even marry Ronnie Wood, I and her family support her. It doesn’t matter if he is older than I am.

The 23-year-old actress – who is currently under a court order to wear an alcohol-monitoring SCRAM bracelet – has reportedly told pals she wants to move to New York or London, England, because she is no longer happy in California.

A source at the MuscleMilk Light fitness retreat in Beverly Hills – which the actress attended with her 16-year-old sister Ali – told E! Online: “She was going on about how she hates it here and how disgusting the people are. She said she likes NY and London and wants out of this city.”

Coldplay have been in the studio working on their 5th studio album and expect to release it before the end of the year.

According to the Coldplay website, the album is well down the track of completion. The write, ‘With the project getting something of a reboot after Latin America, they’ve been very much back in the exploratory phase again. As described in the previous blog, there is a list of songs now and those songs have verses, choruses, riffs, lyrics and so on. These are the raw materials, though.
